Hamersley Gorge Abstract - Karijini.

Located in the north west corner of Karijini National Park, Hamersley Gorge is the most remote of the gorges. It offers a tremendous view of folded bands of coloured ancient rocks, with stepped waterfalls at the base of the gorge. This particular composition caught my eye, with the orange layer of the rock with the green water reflection with a ripple matching. A beautiful abstract piece.

Updated April 2024: This image has been awarded a Gold Award in the Abstract Category of the International Refocus Awards. It also received Nominee recognition in Landscape and Nature Categories.

I recognise and acknowledge Banyjima, Innawonga and Kurrama people as the traditional owners of Karijini National Park.
