Karijini National Park - Termite Mounds on Golden Gossamer. Look carefully and you’ll initially see the gossamer of golden spinifex across the red pindan soil. If you look even closer you will notice the fine gossamer is punctuated by termite mounds, creating little red spots across the golden gossamer.

Karijini National Park - Spinifex Gold. What caught my eye in this location was the low golden hard spinifex against the red pindan soil of Karijini. They almost look like cultures of bacteria or funji on a red petri dish… my background in biology.. but stunning view that could be mistaken for a macro view up close or a ancient desert landscape from the air.

Karijini National Park #037. I was so excited to get this photograph. We had spent about an hour in the car looking for the right location and when I spied this I knew it was the place. I was drawn to the hilly outcrop and the boulders on the hill with the broken ground surrounded by gullies. I was so excited when I finally got the camera in the right location. Enjoy. The journey is through some of the most stunning gorge’s I’ve seen. A quick visit can be done in 3 hours, but if you enjoy the scenery and swim then its a bit longer.
